1. The royal decree was issued on September 23, in which the name of the country was changed from The Kingdom of Hejaz, Nejd, and its annexes to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
2. After a long struggle and great effort that lasted 22 years, King Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud -May God have mercy on him- led the armies to unite the country. As a result, the country became stable and all its regions unified. The founder – may God rest his soul in peace – ordered the unification of the Kingdom in response to telegrams and demands from citizens. The royal decision of selecting the new name reflects the unity of the Kingdom and its people.

The ordinance stated that, with confidence in Allah, and based on the telegrams sent from all our parishes in the Kingdom of Hejaz, Nejd and its annexes, the desire of public opinion in our country and out of devotion to the unification of the parts of the Kingdom of Arabia; we have commanded the following:
4. Article One: The name “The Kingdom of Hejaz, Nejd and its annexes” shall be changed to “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” and our title shall become “The King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
